Software Engineer - Equities Technology PM Tools
Equities PM Tools and Tactical Technology is front office technology team responsible for development and day-to-day support of the technology platform that enables our businesses to research & develop strategies, create simulated trade books, access risk and factor analytics at a security and a portfolio level intraday and end of day. This position sits within Millennium's centralized technology platform and partners closely with a variety of front office PM investment groups.
Responsibilities include:
  • Work with the R&D and application development teams to assist in research, design, prototype and implementation of next generation high-performance strategy research solutions in the industry
  • Assist the team in building out a market leading portfolio management platform by working directly with the business
  • Work with different technologies in order to provide the state of the art market data platforms used in various portfolio analytics across the entire firm
  • Contribute to application development, project management, and business analysis
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in Python and/or C++ application development in Linux along with basic understanding of the Linux operating system
  • Experience working with various market data feeds across exchanges
  • Experience building large-scale real-time portfolio analytics tools focused on Equities
  • Experience working with various message bus technologies like Kafka, Pulsar, Solace etc.
  • Caching technologies like memcache, redis etc.
  • REST based Web service development and Micro service Implementations
  • Database technologies – Advanced SQL, NoSQL, Time-series databases
  • Excellent grasp of data structures and algorithms
  • A strong interest in financial markets and a desire to work directly with investment professionals
  • Good team player with a strong willingness to participate and help others
Millennium pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. The estimated base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $175,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
