We are offering a position for an experienced Software Engineer to join the Biomolecular Analysis Division. This is a great opportunity to build the next-generation technology of automated solutions in biomolecular quality control. Our aim is to investigate, identify and develop new products, processes and technology that will enable a smoother laboratory workflow for our customers to gain trusted answers and insights.

To succeed in this role, you will be proficient in the application of software development skills to develop high-quality software products in an agile environment and experienced in the investigation of new technologies to create innovative products. In addition, you will be able to handle the coordination of the integration of product/process design work multi-functionally.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop desktop software and web applications in an Agile Scrum environment.
• Develop front-end software that interacts with a back-end via web protocols, running on a Windows environment
• Further develop a PostgreSQL database schema to provide superior data storage and accessibility
• Develop software that collaborates with newly developed and existing analytical instruments, working within a multi-disciplinary project team
• Develop embedded software components that run on newly developed analytical instruments
• Take ownership for quality and timely delivery of products.
• Work in a mixture of on-site and remotely, due to COVID-19.

Qualifications

Required:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent with 4+ years of experience.
• Demonstrable experience in designing future-proof software architectures and refining them into working software products.
• Hands-on experience in software design and development of standalone or client/server software products, using either
  • Microsoft technologies such as C#, .NET Framework and .NET Core.
  • Web applications frameworks such as Angular, Typescript and Javascript
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to work across multiple functions, businesses, and geographies to help coordinate to meet project requirements, timelines, and product quality goals.
• Strong curiosity to understand and meet customer needs and expectations

Desired Additional Experience:

• Knowledge about Object-oriented programming methodologies, message-oriented middleware, service-oriented architecture.
• Experience with database technologies, e.g. SQL, PostgreSQL and Entity Framework Core. Data design, transmission, serialization and storage of structured data.
• Familiarization with web APIs such as REST, ASP.NET Core or OpenAPI
• Knowledge of analytical instrumentation
• Experience working with Atlassian products (BitBucket, Confluence, JIRA)
• Experience working in a Scrum team and Scrum methodologies
• Experience in serving life science markets and understanding their specific regulatory requirements (e.g. GxP, 21 CFR Part 11).
