JOB PURPOSE

SMT has been at the forefront of innovation in the sports broadcast and live event production for 30 years. We invented the yellow first down line on football broadcasts. We create a stadium experience in the middle of a golf course. We are behind the scenes at major sporting events all over the world, and our work is shown on televisions and giant LED displays for millions of viewers.

SMT Creative Studio is responsible for designing and building the graphics that shape the fan experience from the living room to the golf course to the grandstands.

We are looking for someone with a strong design background and the ability to create true design systems. Someone with attention to detail, but who can also see the forest for the trees. Someone who strives for ease and efficiency in all things. If you want to be a part of the biggest sporting events in the world - and attend a few of them - send us your resume. You will play a leading role in the creation of video wall and television productions for SMT clients, coordinating efforts between designers, developers and operations staff to ensure delivery of your project. You will provide creative and technical input to other designers, developers, and operations staff to advance SMT services and exceed client expectations. You'll get to create the roadmap, not follow it.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Conceptualize, design and animate dynamic 2D and 3D graphics for broadcast, video display, marketing, and digital projects.
• Pitch ideas to creative leaders and collaboratively work toward solutions to evolve SMT and client products.
• Design UI for SMT software
• Oversee delivery of project launches and gather feedback for adjustments
• Assist with the development and presentation of graphics for proposals and promotional materials
• Occasional travel required
• Other duties as needed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• B.S./ A.A. in Animation, Graphic Design, Film & Television or a related discipline
• 5+ years of experience designing motion graphics/animations
• Expert user of Photoshop & Illustrator
• Expert user of AfterEffects

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work with and lead cross divisional teams
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment
• Experience working on sports graphics, or working within the media/entertainment industry
• General knowledge of types of insert graphics elements, graphics terminology
• Strong experience with Cinema4D
• Experience working with/pitching to clients
• Knowledge and experience in a television broadcast production environment
