Unarmed Position

Talon Protection Group Unarmed Site Officers are the first point of contact for clients and their guests on properties we protect. We expect our officers to conduct themselves professionally with every person they contact and represent the highest company standards of honesty, integrity, and commitment. To be successful as an Unarmed Security Officer, you must be able to exercise good judgement and decision-making skills while under pressure, and constantly be evaluating the lawful application of your use of force tools (e.g. OC Spray). Ultimately, an outstanding Unarmed Security Officer will seek to expand their legal knowledge and self-defense training beyond the state-mandated minimum level.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Protect people and locations from harassment, physical attack, vandalism, and other forms of abusive or unauthorized treatment.
  • Visually & physically inspect client sites & properties for damages & unwanted persons
  • Conduct parking enforcement
  • Answer calls for service dispatched via phone and/or radio
  • Routinely contact and interact with members of the public
  • Contact Law Enforcement/First Responders when necessary
  • Enforce property rules as allowed by law up to and including physically restraining and arresting persons not allowed on the property and summoning local law enforcement
  • Writing and submitting incident reports as required by company policy
  • Ensure that security equipment and measures are suitable and that they always remain in excellent working condition.
  • Implement new security measures, if required.
  • Safely operate a motor vehicle in the performance of your duties
  • Perform foot patrols and door checks of areas not reachable by vehicle
  • Stand, walk, run, bend, and lift 50lbs + while wearing a duty belt, baton, pepper spray, etc.
  • Ensure that your uniform remains clean and well-maintained and that you wear it while on duty.
  • Ensure that your equipment is well maintained and secure at all times.
  • Safely utilize your less-than-lethal devices in times of extreme attack, when non-violent options have been exhausted
  • Attend refresher training as required by company policy & DPSST/WACJTC
  • Any other duties as assigned

Unarmed Site Officer Requirements:

  • Currently hiring for day and night shifts - typically 12hrs each
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license (we use vehicles to patrol larger sites)
  • Able to read, write, and speak English as required by DPSST
  • Have & maintain Oregon DPSST Unarmed Security License and training
  • Clear criminal record as required by DPSST & WACJTC
  • Strong commitment to the well-being of others
  • Excellent decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work calmly and efficiently, particularly when under duress.
  • Neat, professional appearance
  • Capacity to work on your feet for extended periods
  • Ability to work morning, evening, and night shifts
  • Law Enforcement background preferred.
  • Combat MOS experience preferred.
  • Military experience preferred.
  • 3+ years Private Security experience preferred.
  • Ability to speak Foreign Language(s) a bonus'
