Sales and Marketing Director (District Director)
JOB PURPOSE:
Serve as staff leader for District Executive(s) to recruit and serve district volunteers to ensure yearly market share growth, identify and develop new charter relationships that result in increased Charter Partnerships, development and delivery of supplemental programs, oversee district activities; AND serve as staff leader for Marketing Committee to develop, implement and maintain all marketing, communications and department support plans and activities to assist in growing the Council’s market share.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES-
Sales (District Executive Staff Leader) Director
· Lead District Executive team to identify and recruit volunteer leadership into necessary District Committee roles through nominating committee process.
· Develop and support active succession planning with District Key 3, Unit Key 3, and support roles.
· Ensure yearly membership and market share growth through efforts of Council and District membership teams and focused planning.
· Serve as staff leader for new unit development and new charter organization relationships.
· Develop and implement supportive and relevant supplemental program / training delivery for adult leadership.
· Coach and give supervision to the District Executive team to ensure assigned objectives are being met in their field of service.
· Support regular visibility in local media and at community events throughout District service area(s).
Marketing Director
· Oversee the development of Council Marketing plan and strategy through volunteer Marketing Committee.
· Update and maintain Council outward facing communication platforms including Council webpage and social media accounts.
· Regular visibility in the local media and at community events.
· Oversee inward communication with field staff and membership to include regular newsletter, roundtable programming,
· Organize community relations committee to represent each service district and identify potential partnerships / relationships.
· Develop, monitor and maintain the council’s marketing and public relations budget. Evaluate media costs for effectiveness while achieving goals within the marketing and public relations budget.
· Secure positive coverage of Scouting stories in Southeastern New Mexico media. Prepare and distribute press releases for council activities and to recognize volunteer achievements.
OTHER RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES:
As assigned by Assistant Scout Executive.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
· Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or have relevant life experience.
· Strong digital and visual marketing skills preferred.
· BSA Membership and approved Commissioning.
· Strong written, visual and oral communication skills.
· Ability to relate to a wide variety of personalities.
· Ability to supervise staff remotely to achieve goals and objectives.
· Effective in managing membership and new unit organization to achieve growth on a consistent basis with attention to retention of youth and units.
· High level of organizational skill is required.
· A passion to grow the Boy Scouts of America is essential.
· Have the capability to deal with several working projects at any given time.
· Set and achieve challenging, aggressive, yet achievable targets for success.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
· Ability to communicate plans effectively to staff and provide leadership
· Scouting knowledge helpful but not necessary – on the job training will be provided
· Strong public relations skills
· Excellent communication skills necessary
· Ability to Coach and support development of staff and volunteers
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Computer, telephone, cell phone, visual aids and must have a valid driver’s license AND insurance for motor vehicles.

COMPENSATION OFFERED:
The Conquistador Council, Boy Scouts of America is an equal opportunity employer. In addition to a competitive salary payable on the 15th and last day of each month, we offer 15 holiday observances and earned Paid Time Off (PTO) starting at 24 days (depending on tenure in the Boy Scouts Of America). We also offer health, vision, dental and other medical benefits along with employer matching retirement benefits. Approved expenses including business mileage and cell phone reimbursement will be provided on a monthly basis.
