We are currently seeking a person who identifies strongly with our mission and core values to join our team in Seattle, WA as an Retail Sales Associate in our Low Vision Clinic that serves the greater Seattle area. This is an ideal role for someone who is a multi-tasker, organized, willing to learn about low vision products, has a passion for helping people, and who has prior retail experience. Experience working with people with disabilities, or diverse backgrounds including young and elderly is also strongly preferred.


Responsibilities:

  • Greets customers and/or clinic patients and customers in locating product in the store and catalog and may assist with web orders.
  • Willingness to learn all about low vision products.
  • Performs all duties related to processing sales orders (special orders, quotes and sales transactions)
  • Assures payment is received at time of delivery.
  • Gathers daily receipts and checks against daily totals; reconciles register.
  • Directs customer to appropriate person for non-stock or complex requests.
  • Assist customers in loading purchases in their vehicles or assist with delivery requirements as needed.
  • Answer telephone and assist customer inquiries.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential documents following all policies and procedures.
  • Rotates stock according to packaging expiration date.
  • Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Adheres to safety standards and protocols.
  • May assist in the receiving process.
  • Ability to pick master cartons off floor or table, and use tools necessary to stock shelves.
  • Performs cycle counts.
  • Re-stock shelves as inventory is received.
  • Labels shelves with Shelf (Price) Tags. Uses sticker system to identify back stock or multiple facings and assures Shelf Tags are present, readable, in good condition and accurate.
  • Manages products that are out-of-stock by check inventory quantity, min/max and flipping shelf tags where products are sold out.
  • Maintain product quality and standards of the store by constantly facing products.
  • May perform back up Reception for clinic patients as needed.
  • Represents Lighthouse in a positive manner and maintains professional appearance.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate in a pleasant, polite, helpful, and professional manner with customers, clinic patients, and co-workers.
  • Ability to answer routine customer questions regarding products, and direct customers to the appropriate person for resolution as needed.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to perform work assignments requiring repetitive motions.
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours with standard break periods.
  • Required physical activity includes standing, stooping, bending, walking, and stretching throughout shift.
  • Ability to safely use tools and techniques to gather inventory and stock shelves.
  • Working knowledge of Zoom Text or other AT as needed.
  • Aptitude to perform basic math functions manually and with a calculator.
  • Ability to use Point of Sale (POS) hardware and software, phone, scanner, fax and copier.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential documents following all policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Lighthouse mission.
  • Ability to dependably work schedule as assigned.
