The R&D Chemist conducts rigorous scientific research and development to revolutionize the way chemicals and chemistry are thought of today.

• Provides insights into the market and develops new services and products. Improves upon existing products accordingly.
• Achieves quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements; implementing change.
• Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualifications; writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
• Updates job knowledge by studying trends and developments in quality management; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
• Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Job Duties:

• Develop, implement and manage quality assurance systems (consistent with established standards, customer specifications and production goals)
• Gather and analyze chemical samples and derive new concepts from what is found
• Plan and direct method development and validation studies when required
• Identify and lead strategic or continuous improvement projects that enhance the laboratory’s quality, technical, or business systems: FDA, Labels - GHS, SDS - GHS Inbound, SDS – Laboratory, Raw Material Spec, Product Spec Sheets, Maintain Certification, REACH,
• Responsible for technical sales, as well as regulatory functions.
• Travel up to 30% as required (May increase in the future to 50%)
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• M.S. in Chemistry or closely related field
• 5+ years of manufacturing research and development experience
• Strong customer service and organizational skills.
• Teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing schedules and available for overnight trips
• Scientific and numerical skills.
• Fluent in English
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
• Q.C. lab support

Discretionary:

Bonus subject to company profitability goals

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
