Job Description

Position Title: Project Manager

Job Summary

The Project Manager plays an integral role in the operation of the Company by managing key client projects. Project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. Overseeing all aspects of projects.
Setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities and monitoring and summarizing progress of projects. Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Project Management

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for project execution.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed.
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
  • Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis
  • Develop comprehensive project plans and documentation to be shared with clients as well as other staff member

2. Sales and Estimating

  • Actively engage in finding profitable project opportunities.
  • Responds to inquiries from potential customers for information about the capabilities of Pond Cove.
  • Reads and understands the specifications, drawings, notes, etc. in a bid request.
  • Completes a bid package in accordance with company policy and customer requirements.
  • Reviews the estimate and the bid package with the Vice President in accordance with company policy before bid date.

  • Submits the bid.
  • Maintain records to properly and accurately track bid activity including backlog, new bids, and lost bids.
  • Participates in the project “postmortems” and takes advantage of any lessons learned to develop better estimates.

3. General

  • Maintains professional, cooperative relationships with contractors, engineers, internal employees and management.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of expertise with the estimating system chosen by the company.
  • Complies with corporate policies and procedures.

Basis of Evaluation

This position is responsible for the duties noted above and as such will be evaluated on the achievement of the maintenance and improvement of all processes that effect quality, productivity, and customer service as well as:

Achieving goals for assigned projects.

The Project Manager has an expressed obligation to satisfy the Company’s owners; therefore, the implied expectations from the owners will be considered in the performance evaluation.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience as a construction project manager and estimator preferred.
2. In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
3. Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
4. Good knowledge of MS Office
5. Familiarity with construction/ project management software
6. Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
7. Excellent organizational and time-management skills
8. A team player with leadership abilities
9. PMP or equivalent certification will be an advantage.
10. Must be able to read and interpret customer blueprints, drawings, sketches, and other documents necessary to perform the job.
11. Must have a working knowledge of company production techniques as well as relevant production and safety procedures and policies.
12. Willingness to “roll up his/her sleeves” and do what is necessary to get the job done.
13. Honesty, integrity and a strong desire to succeed.
14. Ability to deal tactfully with colleagues.
15. Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
