The Navigation and Control Engineering organization is hiring for a
Principal Guidance Navigation Control Engineer 3/4 Sr. Principal Guidance Navigation Control Engineer professional at our Chandler, AZ location.Designs, develops, implements, verifies and tests algorithms and software and simulation tools to perform guidance, navigation and control of aircraft, spacecraft, submersibles, surface ships, missiles, launch vehicles and upper stages during powered and coast phases of launch, flight, earth orbit, interplanetary cruise and orbital insertion, as well as during staging events. Navigation functions include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality. Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations to achieve a desired position, orientation or orbit in space. Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control laws and hardware and software requirements for aircraft, launch vehicles and/or spacecraft.
Essential Functions:-
Support various launch vehicle, target vehicle, and business development programs

Design, develop, and implement flight software algorithms to support guidance, navigation, and control functions for the target or launch vehicle

Design, develop, and implement simulation software to test and verify mission requirements for the vehicle

Navigation functions include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality

Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations to achieve a desired position, orientation or orbit in space

Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control laws and hardware and software requirements for launch vehicles and/or spacecraft

Utilize excellent communication skills to report program milestones, technical approaches, and findings to GNC as well as program management
This position may be filled at either Principal Engineer GNC 3 or Sr. Principal Engineer GNC 4Basic Qualifications Principal Engineer GNC 3-
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 3 years of related engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with 0 years of experience

Active DoD Secret security clearance, or higher

Experience with vehicle trajectory design and customer provided requirements analysis in a flight software in simulation environment
Basic Qualifications Sr. Principal Engineer GNC 4-
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 9 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 7 years of related engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with 4 years of experience

Active DoD Secret security clearance, or higher

Experience with vehicle trajectory design and customer provided requirements analysis in a flight software in simulation environment
Preferred Qualifications:-
Bachelor or Master’s in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical

Experience with autopilot and guidance algorithm design and navigation and actuator subsystems

Experience with Python and the Linux operating system are preferred

Experience with C++, MATLAB, and Simulink
Salary Range: $90,400 USD - $135,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $112,000 USD - $168,000 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
