Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s Degree Required.

Graduate degree from an accredited PA program required.

Minimum Experience/Knowledge:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an acute care hospital setting required (5 years preferred).
• 2 years of previous OR experience required
• Experience with surgical consults and updating History & Physicals (H&Ps) required.
• First Assistant OR experience (experience as PA and specializing in first assist in the OR) for Advanced Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeries preferred.

Required License/Certification:

• BLS card for Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association.
• Valid and current CA PA license.
• Fire and Safety Certification. If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and maintained by renewal before expiration date.

The annual base salary range for this position is $133,120 - $233,910. The Physician Assistant (PA) is a licensed health professional who practices medicine with the supervision of a physician and surgeon. The PA in this job description is primarily focused on assisting the surgeon in surgery under the supervision of a state-approved supervising surgeon. The Delegation of Services Agreement, and the supervising Physician Responsibility agreement will also govern Physician Assistant practice. The Physician Assistant’s role includes providing direct patient care including performing procedures, providing patient/family and staff education, and abiding by rules and regulations of certifying and regulating bodies. . NOTE: The Physician Assistant will keep the attending physicians informed of patient care problems at all times. If an emergency situation occurs, the Physician on call will be notified.
