Physical Therapist Assistant Tasks:
As a Certified Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) service may include but are not limited to:
- Purposeful activities or interventions to maximize the independence and the maintenance of health of any individual who is limited by a physical injury or illness, a cognitive impairment, a psychosocial dysfunction, a mental illness, a developmental or learning disability or an adverse environmental condition.
- Assisting the physical therapist when performing tests, evaluation and complex treatment procedures
- Observing, recording, and reporting to the therapist the condition, reactions and responses related to assigned duties
- Assisting the therapist in consulting with patients, family members and other health care professionals as appropriate
- Assisting with the care of the physical therapy department and equipment
- Assisting the physical therapist with in-service programs and other meetings as assigned
