TITLE: Director of Pharmacy
LOCATION: near Gratiot, Ohio
An excellent opportunity for a Pharmacy Director in a hospital setting. Relocation available. The Director is accountable for directing, planning, fostering, staff development, and quality management of the pharmacy department in order to maximize customer satisfaction and financial performance.
Responsibilities:
Serves as a pharmacist of record for regulatory licensing agencies, and as an agent of the administrator.
Applies pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic principles to individualize drug dosing for patients.
Effectively manages human resources to maintain a staff of qualified, competent and productive employees.
Prepares pharmacy budget and effectively manages financial and material resources to control cost and adhere to the budget.
Identifies and initiates actions to resolve conflicts or problem situations.
Conducts and participates in department meetings on a scheduled basis to summarize decisions and actions, ensure the assignment of responsibilities, establish follow-up activities and ensure adherence to schedule.
Establishes job competencies and performance goals to provide employees with clear performance expectations.
Demonstrates civic responsibility by participating in community service projects and activities consistent with the mission and values of Genesis.
Demonstrates vision and initiates changes to meet the future needs of the organization.
Supports activities that provide CQI and the delivery of quality services.
Able to effectively function as a pharmacist and to work on-line as needed.
Demonstrates an active role in the development of self and others within the department.
Demonstrates effective use of time and resources and services as a resource to others in problem-solving and crisis-management situations (i.e. “leads by example”).
Responds and supports Code Blue and Code Trauma situations to maximize opportunity for patient survival and stabilization.
Appropriately adjusts doses in patients with diminished renal or hepatic function in order to avoid potential toxicities by patients receiving too much drug.
Individualizes medication dosage for neonatal and pediatric patients in to optimize care during this phase of human development.
Minimum Qualifications:
Licensed Pharmacist in State of Ohio.
At least five years hospital or health system pharmacy experience, with at least 5 years progressive Management experience.
Advanced degree (i.e. M.B.A., M.S.) in management related discipline required.
Ability to effectively communicate in all appropriate forms.
Utilizes cognitive ability to assess situation needs and problem solve.
Salary range $79.85 to $103.10 per hour based on experience.
