*Essential Duties and Responsibilities* include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Review and dispense prescription medications to patients and offer expertise in the use of prescriptions. They also oversee the medications given to patients, and check appropriateness of dosing and drug interactions. * Answers questions and provides information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals. * Complies with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures. * Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs. * Enters data such as patient name, prescribed medication and cost, to maintain pharmacy files, charge system, and inventory. * Instructs interns on matters pertaining to pharmacy. * Engages in the practice of the profession of pharmacy including: dispensing, patient consultations concerning contents, therapeutic values, and uses of any medicinal drug; consultations concerning interactions, prescription transfers, verbal prescription orders, handling lost prescriptions, and administration of vaccines. *Education and/or Experience* PharmD degree
