Position: Pastor of Worship and Arts

Church: Washington Crossing UMC (“the Crossing”)

Style: Modern/Contemporary, Charismatic*

Purpose: Oversee and develop the worship ministries of the Crossing, to include planning, scheduling, conducting, recruiting, training, and leading music and audio/visual volunteers and staff

Role

Worship, Music, Media

• Plan, schedule, conduct, and provide worship leadership for weekend worship services (currently Sat PM and Sunday AM), as well as special and holiday services (e.g., Conferences, Week of Worship, Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve and any other assigned event).
• Oversee the production of relevant worship experiences (audio/visual aids, musical arrangements, drama, etc.) that will draw people into greater participation, stronger faith, and commitment to outreach.
• Recruit, disciple, mentor and oversee worship and arts volunteers (worship leaders, band members, audio/visual team).
• Raise up qualified leaders who can themselves assemble and lead worship services and events
• Collaborate with youth pastor to raise up and disciple youth praise band

• Manage stage presentation. Design consultation/execution for all types of visual media.
• Develop and manage worship budget

General pastoral duties

• Maintain regular office hours.
• Work with pastoral staff to provide leadership of the church when other staff members are away for events, vacations, etc.
• Share in some of the general pastoral ministries (teaching, counseling, visitation, etc.).
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• A committed disciple of Jesus, passionate about spiritual growth, glorifying God in worship, following God’s word, and growing the body of Christ.
• Training/experienced in leading contemporary worship ministry.
• Proficient in church software such as Planning Center and ProPresenter, Click Track
• Pastor’s heart
• Team player who contributes to the overall vision and mission
• Highly qualified with chosen instrument
• Self-starter, teachable
• Teaching skills a plus
• Alignment with the mission, vision, and theology of the Crossing

Accountability

• Reports to and works with the Lead Pastor and/or Executive Pastor

Job Details

• Classification: Salaried, Exempt

*We describe our worship as “hosting God’s presence.”

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
