In this role, you will oversee both Sandwich Making and Bakery Operations and function as a senior member of the site leadership team. Ensure standardization across the operating departments and lead targeted initiatives to drive improvement across the site. Responsible for leadership development of roles within Operations, including Department Managers, Technical Leaders, Area Leaders, and Process Engineers.
In this role you will:
  • Be responsible for all production of Uncrustables sandwiches
  • Be responsible for meeting Safety, Quality, Reliability, Delivery, Organization Capability, Sustainability and Cost targets for plant operations
  • Develop capability and leadership characteristics in Bakery and Sandwich Making Department Managers, Technical Leaders, Area Leaders, and Operations Process Engineers
  • Work with all plant functions and departments to ensure production needs are met
  • Excellent understanding of overall plant product flow including all inputs and outputs
  • Identify, track, and eliminate losses from the operation; lead in solving issues to root cause and implement improvements; utilize Critical Thinking tools
  • Coach the management of capital projects to improve Operations measures in the areas of Safety, Quality, production efficiencies, and capacity growth
  • Influence plant direction by contributing to the Plant Leadership team

What we’re looking for:
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required; an Engineering or Technical degree is preferred
  • At least 7 years of manufacturing experience is required; preferably in food manufacturing
  • Demonstrated experience in building a high-performance work culture and systems is required
  • Continuous improvement systems knowledge
  • Technical knowledge: physics, mechanics, biology
  • Excellent Communication and listening skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience leading, teaching and coaching others
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Experience directing and managing vendors
