POSITION SUMMARY

Provides and directs Occupational Therapy services to patients including assessment, treatment, program planning, implementation, documentation, and treatment team communication. Functions under physicians' orders and practices within scope of licensure and training at all times.

SALARY

For those just beginning a career as an Occupation Therapist the starting wage is a competitive $34.00/hr. and may be more depending upon your education and experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following

• Evaluates patients to obtain data necessary for treatment planning and implementation. May conduct specialized evaluations as needed.
• Interprets and communicates evaluation findings to patients, family, and other staff as needed.
• Develops treatment plans, including short and long term goals, and methods to achieve identified goals. Goals may include reducing pain, restoring function, preventing loss of function.
• Establishes individual patient treatment schedules and coordinates with patient, family, and other team members.
• Implements and conducts treatment as outlined in treatment plan, adapting treatment to meet the individual needs of the patient.
• Provides/recommends adaptive equipment as needed to meet patient goals. Trains patient, family, and appropriate staff in the use or application of the above.
• Educates patients on safety and environmental awareness issues
• Communicates patient status/needs with other treatment team members
• Monitors patients' response to intervention and modified treatment as indicated to attain goals in accordance with physician orders.
• Develops appropriate home or community programming to maintain and enhance the performance of the patient in their own environment.
• Adheres to Company/department procedures regarding documentation of services

• Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with Company standards, policies, procedures, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

• Position requires a Bachelors degree or higher in Occupational Therapy.

Professional Licensure

• Requires licensure within the state of Utah as an Occupational Therapist or be eligible for Utah licensure

Experience

• Minimum of one to three years of relevant experience preferred.
• Lymphedema experience preferred but not required

Shifts

• Generally works business hours
  

Other Qualifications/Requirements

• Requires good interpersonal communication skills
• Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred
