Maine Medical Partners - Southern Maine Health Care

Full Time – 40 hours

The Maine Medical Partner's and Southern Maine Health Care Hospitalist teams are seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to care for patients in the hospitals at Southern Maine Health Care, Biddeford, Maine. The candidate will be joining MMP-Hospitalist Medicine, an organization within the broader practice group of Maine Medical Partners and Maine Medical Center. Practitioners are responsible for admissions, daily rounding, acute visits and discharges of patients as well as ordering and interpreting laboratory data. The APP will work collaboratively with physicians from within Hospital Medicine and other consulting services. A great team based atmosphere with a strong hospital community provides an excellent supportive environment for practitioners to grow and achieve independence. This position is full time at SMHC and some night/weekend expectations are required. New Grads welcome to apply.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and successful completion of accredited Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure.
  • Experience in hospital medicine preferred, not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively triage, organize and prioritize.
  • Ability to function as part of a team.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Current ACLS/BCLS required
