Mental Health Therapist/DBT Team Member

DBT-PTSD Specialists is seeking a full-time mental health therapist for our (PLY/ER) location. DBT-PTSD Specialists is a state certified DBT provider and adheres strictly to DHS protocol. The ideal candidate has a background or interest in DBT, must be willing to complete DBT training, and is confident working with clients with borderline personality disorder, self-harm and/or destructive behaviors, and/or suicidal ideation. This candidate is trauma-informed and has training in (or is committed to completing in their first year of employment) an alternative treatment modality such as EMDR, AIR Network, Somatic or Sensorimotor Psychotherapies, or Prolonged Exposure. The therapist will attend a weekly 90-minute consultation team meeting as well as providing phone-coaching to their DBT clients. Candidates must also have experience with group facilitation.

Required Duties and Qualifications:

  • A master’s or doctoral degree in psychology, counseling, marriage & family therapy, or social work from an accredited academic program.
  • Full, unrestricted licensure as a Mental Health Professional in Minnesota (LP, LPCC, LMFT, or LICSW; or license-eligible)
  • Previous experience operating within outpatient clinic setting ( >1 year preferred)
  • Ability to provide services to adolescents
  • Ability and willingness to service patients primarily on an outpatient basis
  • Flexibility to meet when patients are available to meet, including minimum of one evening per week
  • Evidence of a high level of professionalism within the field
  • Strong clinical acumen and competence providing outpatient psychotherapy
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to respect diversity and integrate issues of culture into case conceptualizations
  • Ability to engage with patients who may be ambivalent about treatment
  • Ability to adapt interventions to patients’ strengths, skills, and developmental levels
  • Commitment to empowering patients to solve their own problems when necessary
  • Ability to intervene decisively, when necessary, to protect patient safety
  • Ability to comply with clinic documentation standards and best professional practices
  • Previous experience carrying a full outpatient caseload

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
