Job Summary

The Natural Health Improvement Center provides an integrative and holistic healthcare option to the West Michigan area. We are a high-traffic, patient-centered practice looking to add an enthusiastic, dependable phlebotomist to our team. The ideal candidate would have previous experience working in an office setting and feel confident with phlebotomy, testing, charting, and handling patient concerns. He/She would have a natural passion for patient care. This person should also have an interest in holistic and integrative medicine and wish to pursue a career in which patients come first. Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform venipuncture to patients based on physician orders.
  • Inform patients of necessary preparation for their bloodwork testing the day prior to their appointment.
  • Prepare the patient's chart with any necessary forms or information needed to perform the ordered testing.
  • Create and provide lab orders for patients seeking testing at an outside lab location.
  • Serve as an assistant to the other IV staff by helping with testing, vitals, physician orders, and providing phlebotomy and nutritional IV administration.
  • Support the general success of the medical lines through teamwork and dedication.
  • Assist the practitioners by communicating recommendations, taking questions from patients, and documenting completely and accurately in the patient chart.
  • Work together with other MAs to handle all workflow in the IV department, divide the workload, and keep the patients happy.
  • Explain testing options and provide patient education, as directed by the physician.
  • Assist in medical records department, as able.
  • Obtain patient vitals as needed to prepare patient for appointment with the physician.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A graduate of an accredited phlebotomy program
  • BLS training and certification preferred
  • Dedicated and dependable
  • Ability to learn and work quickly in a busy environment
  • An interest in holistic care and a career in a private practice

The Natural Health Improvement Center offers medical/dental/vision insurance and weekly stat bonuses after their 90-Day orientation period. 401(k) offered with employer match at 6 months of service. Employees earn vacation hours on a graduated scale measured by the length of employment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
