Fast Pace Dermatology Office located in Beautiful Bend Oregon is seeking a Full Time Medical Assistant/LNP

Our Office Team directly helps ensure that our patients have a great experience and we are looking for candidates that believe patient care and customer service are of highest priority!

The Medical Assistant is to provide assistance to the licensed-medical provider in multiple settings including the clinic and surgical settings. They are to provide safe, knowledgeable, compassionate, individualized care to all patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a patient advocate during patient exam and treatment.
  • Assist in charting note documentation in EMR.
  • Interview patients to obtain medical information.
  • Show patients to examination rooms, procedure rooms or operative rooms and prepare them for the physician; uses hardware such as tablet and computer to scribe for provider.
  • Record patients' medical history, medications, allergies, vital statistics and information such as test results in medical records.
  • Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, wound care instructions and physician's instructions to patients.
  • Help providers examine and treat patients, handing them instruments and materials or performing such tasks as giving injections and removing sutures.
  • Under Provider direction, authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
  • Assess the patient’s condition throughout the exam, procedure or surgery according to the facility’s policies and notify physician of any indication of distress.
  • Responsible for cleaning room and medical equipment in between each patient and at the end of the day.
  • Performs accurate documentation of all procedures in a timely manner.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and data integrity in accordance with Health Information Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and excellent customer service.
  • Participate in department or unit quality improvement activities.
  • Perform back office tasks.
  • Assist in answering phones as needed.
  • Schedule patients for appointments and follow ups.
  • Assist in obtaining authorizations as needed from insurance.
  • Experience Requirements:
  • Two(2)+ year experience in a medical setting; as a medical assistant DERMATOLOGY experience preferred
  • Previous experience with EMR preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements

  • Knowledge of quality assurance procedures used in a clinical setting
  • Ability to communicate in an active multi-office environment
  • Ability to follow or provide verbal and written instructions
  • Intermediate computer operation
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
  • Specialty knowledge of systems relating to job function

Experience:

  • Medical Assistant: 2 years (Required)

License or certification:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
