Overall Purpose of The Job
This position will manage the global MedAire aviation marketing team as well as functionally manage commercial maritime marketing. The position is responsible for the development and execution of the Global Aviation Marketing plan and activities. This role partners with key business leaders and drives integrated marketing communication plans and activities to enhance MedAire’s brand, generate business leads, articulate MedAire’s value proposition and improve client communications. The Director of Marketing works closely with the CEO Aviation and Regional General Managers and is an integral member MedAire’s Aviation Leadership team and the Global International SOS marketing team.
The Marketing Director is also a responsibility for the productization and external communication of new aviation products or aviation product changes, working closely with the Product team and the Executive Committee and the global Marketing Exco. The Director works closely with the sales leadership and regions to plan and execute project priorities and plans that support key business objectives. The Director partners with the aviation product leaders, sales leaders and subject matter experts to ensure campaigns are on strategy and meeting the needs of the market, clients and sales teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the execution of key marketing plan deliverables; including participation in strategy development, marketing plan development and execution, creation of sales and marketing collateral, messaging and presentation material, management of client events such as trade shows and client advisory groups across all target market segments to deliver against key business objectives including renewal, account extension and new business.
- Ensure that the aviation marketing strategy and activities are in place to support the sales & business teams achieve or exceed their yearly sales targets with digital marketing activities, lead generation & nurturing being critical. This will include monthly & quarterly campaign engagement, leads, tele-nurturing and SLA analysis and dashboards required to manage lead generation and supporting group marketing & EXCO lead generation reporting.
- Enable the marketing teams’ effort to drive measurable and effective client communication activities via events, digital campaigns, collaterals directly and in collaboration with the sales team to reinforce value propositions that result in client’s retention, sales lead generation and utilization.
- Work closely with the CEO Aviation, sales, and aviation product champions and executives to execute B2B and B2C (members) plans that are completed on strategy, on time and within budget – both in the offline and on-line (digital) world.
- Plan and act upon all communications needs on M&A activities that the CEO Aviation is leading.
- Take strong lead in aviation client advisory group efforts, including project management, client engagement, content development, developing key learnings, implementing key learnings back into the business and filtering to new product or marketing ideas.
- Oversee aviation trade show marketing strategy, execution, budget management and coordination of marketing efforts relative to the event. For designated events, Director will manage overall event, thought leadership coordination, presentation development, trade show booth graphics, client events and associated collateral. Works closely with aviation sales leadership teams to drive and track opportunities, revenue, trade show ROI.
- Leads productization for all new and updated aviation products and services, working closely with the Product Team and other key stakeholders, including leading the development of all materials to roll out products internally to sales and externally to clients.
- Participate in quarterly EXCO, QSM and regional sales and marketing meetings, as well as the annual global marketing leadership conference to create alignment on plans and priorities as well as aviation product council updates on progress regarding aviation products in development.
- Develop and update aviation sales and marketing collateral including datasheets, proposals, onboarding materials, welcome and renewal materials for existing and new products and services.
- Champion aviation sales enablement through the ownership and oversight of our shared sales and marketing collateral repositories/platforms used by the aviation sales team – including MHub, SharePoint and Sales Briefcase. Ensure tools are well maintained with updated materials, with the goal of providing relevant, timely, useful and easily accessible materials and content.
- Perform competitive analysis, updates, and market share information quarterly through QSMs. Contribute to competitive intelligence database and facilitate sharing of intelligence to appropriate team members.
- Support strategic proposal and client presentations by providing appropriate aviation product marketing input.
- Manage new high priority sales and marketing projects as assigned; create timelines, write project briefs and project manage creative and promotional materials for existing and new products.
- Support any public relations, including positioning senior executives in high-profile speaking roles, developing programs to generate interest from media, create opportunities to demonstrate thought leadership and propagate the organization’s agenda in key strategic media.
- Be the gatekeeper of all marketing and press materials and ensure that the highest editorial standards are always adhered to.
- In collaboration with the CEO Aviation, set and defend the annual marketing communications budgets both G&A and capex.
- Support crisis management team as key focal point for implementation of client communications and associated outreach initiatives.
- Hires team and provides ongoing coaching and mentoring to ensure continued motivation, development, and adoption of the company’s values and a highly skilled team. Evaluate potential buddies and mentor for oneself and the team where appropriate.
- In collaboration with CEO Aviation, develops Aviation Marketing KPIs and monitors individual performance, and conducts performance evaluations.
- Conducts one-on-one reviews, sets objectives, establishes appraisals to build more effective communications, understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of activity, output, and team performance.

Required Skills and Knowledge
- Functional Marketing Skills: Strategy development, knowledge, and application of a variety of B2B and B2C marketing tactics, market research, new product development, event management, client engagement and sales enablement.
- Project Management: project definition, specification development, timeline management and delivery. Experience successfully leading and managing projects in highly matrixed organization, partnering with variety of key stakeholders to ensure on-time and on strategy output.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead others, partner, and influence key stakeholders toward an agreed-upon outcome, keeping projects on time and on budget.
- Budget Management and basic financial analytical skills are required as develops reporting on project and/or business results. Digital: Digital Marketing, Marketing Automation, and Customer Relationship Management (Salesforce) and (Eloqua) fundamentals.
- Office: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and other office programs used in the creation and distribution of marketing pieces and communications
- Creative design experience. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with aviation and maritime markets a plus.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in field of marketing, communications, advertising, or business management.
