POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager of Information Technology is responsible for establishing the company’s IT vision and leading and executing on all aspects of the company’s technology roadmap. The position plays an integral role in the company’s strategic direction, development, and future growth, and works in partnership with our parent company, Quincy Mutual, to ensure alignment with corporate technology projects and initiatives. The manager will provide direction and expertise to the company on short and long term automation and technology issues and act as a hands on partner with managers on project delivery.

Responsible for the security and integrity of all electronic company data, information systems processes, hardware, software, and purchasing. Daily goals are to provide 100% up time for all processing systems, successful completion of all production cycles and jobs, accurate output, and timely purchasing and upgrades of equipment and supplies.

This position currently follows a hybrid work schedule, with in-office days on Mondays & Tuesdays.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Project Management and IT Operations

  • Ensure 100% up time for processing systems and network connectivity, including proactivity identify areas for improvement.
  • Responsible for upkeep of the company web site.
  • Work with the Network Administrator to ensure appropriate maintenance of emergency power systems.
  • In conjunction with parent company establish and maintain cyber security and business continuity processes including:
  • Partnering with the Network Administrator for the company’s business continuity development plans and participates in annual testing with the Quincy Mutual Group.
  • Maintaining and enhancing appropriate protocols for security and password control.
  • Partner with the Network Administrator for maintenance of building Security System (hardware and software).
  • Recommends, negotiates prices and contracts, for the purchase of software and hardware solutions.
  • Manage IT projects to successful completion within a larger business initiatives
  • Coordinate with Production Analyst and Operations Manager on necessary product testing.

Supervisory

  • Supervises, engages, and develops IT staff including providing regular performance feedback and conducting annual performance appraisals.
  • Directs Senior Programmer/Analyst and Programmers in new systems design and maintenance of existing software.

Communication

  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with peers, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Establishes regular communications updates regarding project status and operational updates., including chairing meetings with staff and users regarding the direction and development of projects.
  • Maintains and expands collaboration and synergy between Patrons Oxford and Quincy Mutual Group

Additional Responsibilities

  • Continuously analyze current processes, technologies and vendors to identify areas of improvement.
  • Responsible for producing NAIC Annual Market Conduct Study for all states within the Quincy Mutual Group.
  • Process vendor contracts and invoices.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Clear and concise written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize and multi-task to meet deadlines and deliverables

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement and make difficult decisions
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Sciences, or related field.
Property and Casualty Insurance background a plus.
15 years experience in IT environment.
