Next Generation, Inc is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Business Analyst to drive requirements gathering and provide functional oversight for the project team. A Business Analyst has a crucial role to play in the success of any client project. Their involvement in a project begins from understanding the needs of the customer and goes on to the Sprint demoes. The Business Analyst leads the documentation of requirements through input from the Product Owner, business stakeholders, and technical teams. The Business Analyst is the primary contact person of the Developer whenever they face any impediment in the development process. The Business Analyst is also the primary contact person of the Product Owner for refining user stories and acceptance criteria during the sprint cycles.
Job Requirements- A Business Analyst should adhere to several responsibilities. Key among them are as follows:
Lead discovery sessions with Product Owner and business stakeholders to understand goals and challenges that will inform the project requirements.
Take meeting minutes and track action items from functional discovery sessions.
Draft project needs and requirements into Epics, Features, and User Stories based on input from Product Owner, business stakeholders, and development team members.
Document acceptance criteria for all user stories.
Conduct quality review and gap analysis between draft user stories and requirements from the RFP / system capabilities. Confirm with Product Owner that all base requirements have been captured into user stories.
Anticipate and analyze the needs of the customers to find solutions to address their problems.
Work collaboratively with the Product Owner and Stakeholders on requirements refinement.
Lead sprint team with developers, testers, and Product Owner to refine user stories through sprints.
Support design and documentation updates identified during sprints.
Supporting functional testing of user stories once development is complete.
Conduct functional demonstrations of completed user stories in sprint demos.
Mandatory Qualifications:
Candidate should have experience eliciting and documenting requirements through collaborative sessions
Candidate should have experience writing requirements in an agile format (epics/features/user stories/acceptance criteria)
Candidate should have experience working in the public sector licensing and permitting space
Candidate should have experience with Salesforce and/or AWS platforms
Candidate should be a good team player, have the ability to learn quickly, and have excellent written and spoken communication.
Travel Requirements:
Candidate should be based in the United States
Role is primarily virtual; however, minimal in-person co-location may take place in Springfield, IL at critical milestones in the project
