Your Mission:
Medidata is the leader in developing the technologies that allow our customers to get medicines to patients faster. Building on our long history of delivering world-class clinical applications to the life sciences industry, Medidata’s Product Organization is staffed with a passionate team of product management experts, tackling the industry’s most difficult technical challenges in order to push the boundaries of possibility for our clients and most importantly, for patients. Together we can deliver meaningful advanced digital transformation to the industry in order to achieve our vision.
Medidata is looking for an experienced product manager with exceptional collaborative skills to communicate and champion our vision for a unified platform experience, create a strategic roadmap for achieving this vision, and work across product teams to execute on this roadmap. The Senior Product Manager will report to the Vice President, Design and will collaborate across a diverse range of design, technology, and product leaders to identify a strategic and practical path forward.
This is a high visibility role with ownership of Medidata’s largest, and strategically most important design initiative for our next chapter in life sciences and healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:
You will collaborate with the design team and leadership to understand and extend our vision for a unified platform experience (referred to internally as One Experience or “1X”).
You will own the long-term strategy, vision and roadmap for 1X.
You will understand the business and partner with internal product teams to understand their needs and make key prioritization decisions.
You will drive horizontal UX/UI initiatives, across products and components to ensure that ease of navigation, UI consistency, information organization and discoverability is retained and in harmony as the product scales up in functionality and in the support of multiple user roles.
You will clearly communicate product plans, benefits, and results, as appropriate, to a spectrum of audiences, from internal partners to senior leadership.
Your Competencies:
You have a demonstrated track record of successfully managing ambitious and operationally complex projects with cross-functional, distributed teams.
You are a systems thinker with the ability to drill into the details to find the right levers.
You know how to balance long-term strategic thinking and near-term execution.
You think about design as a key driver of efficiency, profit, and position.
You have a deep knowledge of and appreciation for product design, user research, and development practices and processes.
You are a proponent of modern product-management practices. You’re able to reference methodologies and best practices from thought leaders (e.g. Marty Cagan, Gibson Biddle, Jason Fried) and express your own philosophy.
Your Education & Experience:
Minimum 8–12 years working in product management.
A portfolio of successful product initiatives.
Experience working collaboratively with design and engineering teams.
