JR. PRODUCTION GRAPHIC DESIGNER

We’re an innovative, quaint, award-winning marketing agency located in Tempe, AZ (about 12 people, in business for 30+ years). We love food and this has helped us shine in the food retail industry. We work with progressive food stores from Seattle to the Cayman Islands. We write and design food magazines and ads. Our web design has won multiple awards and we also produce food video content, develop corporate brand strategies and create ad campaigns for our clients.

DESCRIPTION:

The Jr. Production Graphic Designer is responsible for preserving the brand perception and alignment for each individual client through accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail. Establishing high standards and exceeding client expectations will result from the quality demonstrated in typesetting, layout, design and original concepts created by the Jr. Production Graphic Designer. This role is perfect for “foodies” who enjoy working with pre-made templates and designs in the Adobe Creative Suite. Seeking applicants with a deadline-driven mentality, an eye for detail, and a team-player attitude.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Highly versed in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)

- Preferable familiarity with task management and team communication softwares (Asana, Slack)

- Understanding of file sharing technologies (Dropbox, Transmit)

- Ability to work within an organized server/digital asset manager environment and adhere to existing labeling and archiving techniques (Cumulus)

- Proficient with Mac and Microsoft Office products

DOMAINS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

- Management of assigned recurring print projects

- Client communication, Quality control, Design, Production, Time management

FUNCTIONS AND ACTIVITIES OF THE POSITION IN A TYPICAL WEEK:

- Actively communicate with LT Design and LT Processes

- Manage ad design, set-up and production (create proof PDFs, make internal corrections, upload press PDFs)

- Discuss copy needs with Copywriter

- Communicate with clients regularly regarding assigned projects

- Assess what is required to complete project and make necessary requests to clients for missing images or content, etc.

- Make client corrections

- Maintain project schedule and meet deadlines via Asana

- Typeset and place images in print ads and eBlasts

- Process client images and properly name and file them

- Assist other designers when necessary

- Clip and/or retouch images

- Meticulously look over ad as it’s being produced to ensure accuracy

POSITION DETAILS:

- 40 hours per week, 5/8 hour days, In-house position

- $18-$20/hr
