Summer 2023 Semester:

JOB SUMMARY: The show intern will mostly help with assisting managers across the project. The following divisions are: Showset, Lighting, and Audio/Video. Tasks may include coordination of schedules, assistance with vendors, attending and helping run Design Reviews, and being present for factory acceptance testing. Other tasks may include: uploading and organizing project deliverable documentation, watermarking, taking meeting minutes, and assisting with project transmittals. This role will require frequent visits to the construction site to check on progress and quality of General Contractor and Electrical Contractor and Specialty Vendor Installation progress. The intern will be part of bringing complex designs to life and gain invaluable hands-on experience in install validation and generating progress reports.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with Show install supervision
  • Manage project deliverables
  • Coordinate field activities with ride, show, audio, and lighting teams
  • Attend install coordinator meetings
  • Prepare install progress reports
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION:

  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.
  • Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
  • Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred.
  • An official transcript may be required upon request.
  • Preferred majors include: Technical Theatre, Themed Entertainment, Event Management

EXPERIENCE: Prior internship experience related to position is preferred.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Preferable skills for success in role include but not limited to:

  • Experience and knowledge of the technical theatre field along with subject matter exposure and/or experience with stage management, scenic, lighting, and/or audio/video is preferred
  • Knowledge of lighting and audio system processers such as Mosaic or Q-Sys Designer is preferred
  • Experience in working on construction sites is preferred
  • Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Superior written & verbal communication skills.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.
  • Consistent attendance.

  • This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
  • Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than August 2023.
