This job description if for a_ Human Resources Generalist._ This position is part of the North America Paper and Packaging Group. This position reports to Regional Human Resources Manager.

Role Overview: Responsible for supporting the Regional Human Resources Manager. This individual will support the Human Resources Department and will provide services to the DS Smith Greeneville and other sites as needed.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Business Partner: Act with line management in instituting work system improvements which positively impact business profitability and assit with implementing employee engagement activities.
  • Leadership Development, Engagement, and Diversity: educate, coach and counsel members of the organization on job performance, employee development and diversity to build work teams who fully contribute to meeting or exceeding business goals.
  • Provide support and resources for staff and management in employee relations issues.
  • Recruiting and Staffing: Recruit and onboard hourly and salaried employees for the Greeneville facility including processing employment advertisements applications, screenings, interviewing, hiring and onboarding.
  • Educate and coach front line supervisors on company policies work rules, as well as applicable federal and state regulations, to ensure fair and consistent delivery of human resources products and services and compliance.
  • Promote and participate in the planning and implementation of communication strategies which deliver accurate, consistent and timely information on business issues and employee concerns
  • Update employee information such as personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, attendance, performance reviews or evaluations, and termination date and reason. Update employee files to document personnel actions and to provide information for payroll and other uses. Examines employee files to answer inquiries and provides information to authorized persons.
  • Assist in monitoring attendance, job bidding, and maintenance of HR records.
  • Assisting new hire benefit enrollments as well as benefit or status changes. Enters employee benefit changes into the HRIS System.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Certifications: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or three to fours years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
