Human Resources Generalist

8 month contract position covering Maternity leave

Under supervision of the Human Resource Director by independently managing and overseeing comprehensive personnel administration; disability; leaves; workers’ compensation; unemployment; employee relations; recruitment; benefits; COBRA; and process exiting employees. Provides analysis of HR trends, including compensation, total rewards programs, policy development, etc.

Description:

  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • May implement new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Administers benefits at the company level; coordinates open enrollment and provides employees with expertise on the local level.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from employees and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data, and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
  • Maintains OSHA 300 records and coordinates workers comp claims with 3rd party provider.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Manages and tracks all employee disciplinary action.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Administers FMLA leaves and attendance policies.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Maintains physical and digital files for employees and their documents, benefits and attendance records.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Minimum 3 years of experience Human Resources experience
  • Logistics, Manufacturing, Distribution, Aerospace Industry experience preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office to include PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word, and Excel
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred (not required)
  • Knowledge of California Labor Laws
  • Must be Bilingual
