JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Human Resources Coordinator performs a variety of human resources functions to Region V Services (RVS) employees. This potion may be assigned responsibilities which includes recruitment, employee development, performance improvement/coaching, policy and procedure review and compliance as well as assigned special projects or research to support the employment practices of RVS and compliance with federal state and local employment requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


Employee Relations

  • Conducts all work with a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism in the support of initiatives, projects, efforts, and tasks relating to the Human Resources division and RVS Administration.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources procedures, and personnel transaction processing techniques. Ability to learn to interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures and apply them in a variety of procedural situations.
  • Serves in a customer-facing, consultative role and is responsible for providing human resources support in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with all applicable RVS, State, and Federal regulations, policies, and guidelines to supervisors and employees.

Employee Benefits

  • Develops and delivers effective and timely employee education and enrollment support services for employee benefits.
  • Coordinates, tracks and maintains ACA reporting. Works with RVS administration to ensure compliance in employee scheduling/status and initiates employee benefit enrollment as needed.
  • Oversees and manages employee FMLA processes, including eligibility, approvals and return to work coordination with employees and supervisors.
  • Manages and ensures coordination and execution of employee Wellness, Tuition Reimbursement and other incentive programs offered by RVS.

Recruitment

  • Work with leadership teams to project and determine future needs for staffing, to include: updating of position descriptions, identification of recruitment targets – I.e. job fairs, college outreach, targeted advertising resources, recruiting, etc.
  • In cooperation with Human Resources Specialist, coordinate the application, advertising, interview and offer processes to ensure accuracy, consistency and timeliness. Serve as resource and central communication point of contact for employees, interview teams and applicants concerning hiring, postings and the application processes.
  • Assures Job Descriptions are reviewed and as necessary, appropriately revised at least annually.

Policy/Procedure and Compliance

  • Assist in the review process for RVS policies and procedures, divisional/operational handbooks, and management plans.
  • Utilizes technology to provide professional services including the development of reports, presentations, and training.
  • Maintains, reviews, processes and develops a variety of extremely confidential and sensitive information in a secure, professional, and trustworthy manner.

Performance Management

  • Assist in the development, training and implementation of performance management and employee evaluation processes and procedures.
  • Develop reports, communication and training to supervisors, assist in the development of performance improvement plans and/or development goals.

Professional Development

  • Continually seek to expand Human Resources and training expertise by attending conferences, workshops, programs, professional reading, and seminars relating to HR and Employee Development.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to policies of confidentiality in support of the mission and functions of the Human Resources division and RVS.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, changing priorities and work in an environment with critical demands to meet deadlines, perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, accurately, and to prioritize multiple projects with time-sensitive deadlines and follow-up as needed and to work efficiently and effectively with limited supervision in a team-oriented environment.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in the area of Human Resources, Business, Management, Training, Organizational Development, Communications, or a directly related field of study.
  • Two (2) years of professional work experience in an area of Human Resources or Management field; equivalent education/experience considered.
