Job Purpose:

Our Club is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Head Lifeguard/Manger to oversee our Aquatics Safety Department Our ideal candidate will be energetic, compassionate, and enthusiastic about helping people achieve their goals. The Head Lifeguard will develop and manage a vibrant aquatics safety program to ensure our membership is given the highest level of attentive safety. The ability to train/certify lifeguards through the Red Cross, as well as administer CPR/First Aid/AED training is a plus. Additional responsibilities include providing excellent customer service to our members and TPC co-workers by greeting everyone with WARMTH exhibiting PRIDE in TPC. Compensation dependent on experience and if an Aquatic Training Provider

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the lifeguard staff and serve as a role model for all guards to help promote the highest level of professionalism.
  • Assume all Lifeguard duties and enforcing all rules.
  • Communicate with Wellness Director to resolve any lifeguard or maintenance issues.
  • Communicate frequently with Wellness Director on any lifeguard current issues or concerns, and lifeguard performance: assist in managing lifeguard issues and warnings: meet with Wellness Director monthly to discuss staffing needs, rotations, zones and issues and/or concerns
  • Create lifeguard schedule, enforcing lifeguard’s responsibilities and resolving any schedule issues: work with Wellness Director to cover any lifeguard’s shift when they are sick or have an emergency.
  • Presence on the pool deck when only lifeguard on duty
  • Conduct monthly lifeguard staff meetings and training.
  • Scheduled in coordination with Wellness Director
  • Train new lifeguard staff on the opening and closing duties and rotations.
  • Direct members to Wellness Director with any complaints or questions that cannot be solved immediately.
  • Conduct lifeguard training classes and certifications.
  • Work with Wellness Director and Aquatics Team to ensure that all the pool rules are implemented.
  • Assist with pool and deck maintenance and cleanliness, create SOP’s
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

  • Current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
  • Current CPR/First-Aid/AED Certification
  • 5 years of lifeguard experience
  • High school diploma or equivalency

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

  • Lifeguard Instructor Certification
  • Pool Operator Certification
  • 3+ year of experience managing lifeguard/aquatic safety program
  • College preferred

Critical Skills, Language Skills, Technical and Specific Knowledge

  • Have good written and verbal skills for effective communication
  • Ability to read, write business correspondence
  • Ability to work independently and able to handle multiple priorities/projects at the same time.
  • Ability to understand and resolve a variety of customer service problems
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks and deploy resources effectively
  • Must be punctual, reliable and conscientious.
  • Basic computer skills, MS Office suite including Word, Excel and Outlook,

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 200+ pounds/pull an individual out of the pool. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close and distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

EXPECTED HOURS

Varying/flexible schedule for lifeguard training, but expected to maintain a set schedule for Head Lifeguard Duties, but must be available for some nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be available for Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 - $45.00 per hour
