Come help us start a new team for our new organization and facilities! Long-term landscaping/groundskeeping position that involves a variety of maintenance, landscaping, and grounds-keeping tasks for the Parks & Recreation facilities at the McKinney MUD1 Regional District. Uses tractors with brush hogs, zero-turn mowers, grass trimmers, chainsaws, and minor construction equipment. Conducts park and facility custodial duties, and provides customer service interaction with park and facility patrons during normal daily operations and special events.

JOB DUTIES
Routine grounds & facility maintenance work; Operates various light to medium duty maintenance, landscaping, and construction equipment including but not limited to push mowers, zero-turn mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, sprayers, brush hog, augers, chain saws, weed eaters, blowers, pressure washers, and other power tools, hand tools, and related equipment.
1. Mows and maintains lawns, pastures, flowerbeds, turf, wooded trails, and areas.
2. Removes and disposes of trash and debris from grounds, lakes, trails, and dog parks.
3. Performs landscaping applications to include seeding, planting, pesticide, herbicide, and fertilizer.
4. Performs tree trimming and removal.
5. Performs various painting and staining tasks.
6. Maintains granite, dirt, and concrete trails.
8. Cleans and maintains public restroom facilities.
9. Cleans and maintains facility picnic and playground areas.
10. Washes vehicles, tractors, and maintenance equipment.
11. Interacts with park and facility patrons.
12. Assists in setting up tents, tables, chairs, inflatables & trash for special events.
13. Performs other related duties as assigned or required.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
1. 90% Outside work during all seasons and in all environments (hot, cold, rain, or snow).
2. Heavy lifting, bending, loading, and unloading almost daily.
3. Digging, trenching, and shoveling tasks.

DESIRED & REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. High school diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED).
2. Valid & current Texas Driver's license with an acceptable driving record (REQUIRED).
3. Periodic and random employment drug screenings (REQUIRED).
4. Pre-employment background and US work authorization screening (REQUIRED).
5. Landscaping/grounds maintenance/keeping and/or other related experience (DESIRED).
6. Light to medium farm, maintenance, and construction equipment operations & maintenance (DESIRED).
7. Masonry & Concrete Experience (DESIRED).
8. Fencing, Carpentry & Plumbing Experience (DESIRED).
9. Military Veteran (Construction Battalion or Navy Seabee / E-3, 4, 5) (DESIRED)

SALARY & BENEFITS
1. Starting Hourly Salary: $14 - $17 (DOQ&E).
2. Paid Holidays, and paid vacation after probationary period.

MISC
1. 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and some weekends.

4. Position is for LONG-TERM, and FULL-TIME employment.

6. 60 Day probationary period is required before full-time is considered permanent.

COMPANY INFORMATION
The McKinney Regional District is owned, operated, and funded by McKinney Municipal Utility District #1 (MUD1). The Regional District operates B.B. Owen Park & The Woods at Trinity Disc Golf Course (approx. 400+ acre park, 5 lakes, 10+ miles of wooded & concrete trails), B.B Owen Basecamp that includes a splash pad, playground and restroom facilities, Old Joe dog park, and multiple other pocket parks, and playground areas. The Regional District is also responsible for several main roads and medians throughout the Trinity Falls master community.

The Regional District is currently in the startup process and taking over the developer's established maintenance areas and responsibilities with its own in-house crew. We are currently looking for our first few employees to help us establish a long-term, full-time maintenance team to maintain and grow the parks and recreation areas of this growing master community.
