POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Senior Graphic Designer/Art Director
DEPARTMENT: Marketing
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
POSITION REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Marketing Intern
POSITION PURPOSE
To concept, design and art direct collateral, packaging, advertising and sales materials that creatively and consistently reflect the company’s brand identity.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES Main Functions: Responsible for seeing all projects through to completion. Front concept and design to production.
Studies layouts, sketches or proposed illustrations and related materials
that is processed.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS Advanced knowledge of personal computers.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred, including, or supplemented with, course work in art or commercial art.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge and experience with standard software and hardware (Mac OSX) applications, including QuarkXpress, In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, and MS Office, Apple Motion, DVD Studio Pro and Final Cut
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Ten + years working within a design firm or other. Creative team environment.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions and to deal with problems involving few variables.
MATHEMATICS ABILITY: Ability to perform basic math skills, use decimals to compute ratios and percent's and to draw and interpret graphs.
LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to write complex sentences, using proper punctuation, adjectives and adverbs. Ability to communicate in complex sentences, using normal word order with present and past tenses; and using a good vocabulary.
