Position title: Operations Manager / Graphic Designer / (GCS)

Department: Professional Brands – Marketing

REPORTS TO: Creative Director

BROAD FUNCTION:
To help maintain and grow efficiencies of our organizational processes, we’re seeking an experienced Graphic Designer / Operations Manager to oversee daily activities while also contributing to Design support on our in-house design team. You’ll partner with Brand Marketing and Creative Studio Designers to support & deliver marketing projects from initial designs to printed final collateral to drive sales of Pure Encapsulations, PureGenomics and Douglas Laboratories through successful, on-brand, eye-catching, compelling overall communications materials.

The ideal candidate will have a sharp business mind and proven success managing multiple projects toward maximum productivity. Experience with design, project management, multi-tasking, print production & pre-press for events, Consumer Packaged Goods, Retail, digital & Ecommerce. Your ultimate responsibility is to keep projects running on time, while tracking budgets, forecasting and print inventory levels.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

• Maintain constant communication with CD, Clients, GCS, and vendors to ensure deadlines are met, and printed pieces are delivered when promised.
• Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols while establishing best-practices for efficiencies across teams
• While growing existing efficiencies, be pro-active investigating new ways of working with the goal of supporting everyone to be nimble and quick.
• Ensure projects remain on time and within a defined budget. Work with partners to define budget when not already determined
• Oversee print materials and inventory management with our print partners.
• Has the ability to go into all design files to adjust information as needed and prep files for pre-press.
• Ability to design emails, ads, one-pagers, website assets, tradeshow assets, POS assets
• Bid print projects with multiple vendors (when required) to assist with time or cost savings, ensuring delivery through our established print partner.
• Manage & coordinate print proof approval processes, between Brand team and GCS, and completing item request forms for each new and updated piece printed for stock in inventory.
• Coordinate delivery of print pieces to appropriate channels (reps, offices, tradeshows) and occasional mailings.
• Oversee email coding with our external coding partner. Approve all quotes in a timely manner to ensure deadlines are met, renewing prepaid subscriptions as needed.
• Conduct budget reviews and report cost plans to upper management
• Submit, review and approve invoices
• Support the team, shifting priorities when needed between design and operations needs, within a time-sensitive and demanding environment with grace and enthusiasm
• Manage relationships with third party stock photography vendors (tracking usage – both domestically and internationally. Renew plans, manage users, purchase international rights when needed)
• Meet all schedules and deadlines
• Ensure packaged files are organized & placed on server upon final approval, and ongoing

Education/Skill Level:

• B.S. / B. A. in Graphic and/or Design preferred
• 5-7 years previous work experience with an in-house design department or agency with proven experience in an operations management position
• Strong budget development and oversight skills
• Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control of operations
• Knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong database development
• Trained in business negotiation processes
• Software: Adobe Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Powerpoint

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
