Job Description :

We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate Pharmacist to join our team. This is a full-time position with supervision duties. We offer competitive pay and benefits for all employees.

Job Description:

  • Working knowledge of all areas of pharmaceutical services provided by the Hospital, including drug distribution systems, central operations, and IV admixture.
  • Interpret, compound, and dispense physician’s orders for medications.
  • Evaluate pharmacological, chemical, or physical incompatibilities in physician’s orders. Communicate the evaluation to physicians where applicable.
  • Participate in distribution of medications to patients as well as educate them on their medications where applicable.
  • Maintain scheduled II perpetual controlled substance inventory record.
  • Work cooperatively with all hospital employees and patients. Maintain good personal and business relationships with them. Assist in the teaching of students and house staff where applicable.
  • Will be available for after hour on call service when pharmacy is closed.
  • Maintains adequate drug supply.
  • Supervises drug storage and drug preparation areas within the pharmacy and throughout the hospital.
  • Work in cooperation with infection control to complete antibiotic stewardship tasks.
  • Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Ensures medication availability by delivering medications to nursing staff and departments.
  • Understands and knows the location of hospital and pharmacy policies and procedures.
  • Basic knowledge and skills required for the preparation of I.V. solutions using aseptic technique for patients of all ages.
  • Assists in implementing planned activities.
  • Participates on Problem Solving Teams to continually improve the service provided to patients, employees, physicians, and all other customers.
  • Duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

  • Requires graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Current registration with the Kansas State Board of Pharmacy.

Working Conditions:

Works in Pharmacy Department 90% of the time and patient care area 10% of the time. Job responsibilities require minimal exposure to noise, lighting, and/or temperature levels. Exposure to irritating, unpleasant, or hazardous elements or conditions (i.e., blood, chemicals, and infectious diseases) is minimal.

Chaplin Nature Center provides an excellent opportunity for hiking, with over five miles of trails through diverse habitats.
