Qualifications:
Associate Degree or appropriate work experience; ability to work in a collaborative environment as a team member; strong interpersonal and computer skills; must always maintain confidentiality.
Abilities, Skills, and Knowledge Desired: The Food Service Assistant performs a variety of duties relating to financial accountability for the Food Services Department.
PERFORMANCE REPONSIBLITIES:
Food Service Assistant Essential Functions (school year):
· Assists families with the MyMealOrder process – contacts parents as needed to order, ensures all orders are processed.
· Works with families regarding online payments in eFunds.
· Count out all register cash drawers, reconcile daily sales to the daily sales record sheet.
· Maintain accurate sales records by day and shift. Prepare daily cash deposit and corporate paperwork. Always maintains proper security of cash. Always follows cash accountability and bank responsibility guidelines.
· Adjust accounts as necessary.
· Maintains Skyward database and relays information as necessary to schools regarding accounts and balances.
· Reviews and enters free and reduced applications and sends out correspondence.
· Yearly verifications are also done by the assistant. Other DPI reports as needed.
· Keeps track of all daily invoices and enters weekly Summary of Purchases.
· Balances Skyward to district monthly.
· Production record maintenance
· Fee waivers for the district
· Obtains subs as needed for district when call ins occur at any of the buildings for food service.
· Acts as a backup cashier at buildings across the district on an as needed basis.
· Assists in taking catering orders, setting up and delivery of catering orders if necessary.
· Assists and trains cashiers, when necessary, responsible for cashier monitoring.
· Actively assists with hydroponic gardens and education opportunities.
· Assists with product orders.
· Responsible for milk entry and verification process.
· Takes periodic inventory.
· Practices safety standards always.
· Responsible for department signage – ala carte items, menu displays, labels, etc.
· Adheres to all work rules, procedures and policies as set forth by the district, including, but not limited to, those contained in the handbook.
· Other duties as assigned by supervisor
