Our office is in the historic Merino Mill in downtown Mooresville. This 8300 sq. ft. facility houses a well-lit office area and adjoining shop. Our office includes CAD workstations, an electronics lab, a break room, and meeting rooms. Our fabrication shop is filled with natural light and well equipped with CNC mills, a CNC lathe, saws, a laser cutter, welding capabilities, and a PCB pick and place assembly line. As such, our engineers are empowered to go directly from a conceptualized design to working in collaboration with our full-time machinists to develop prototypes in house. This ability to quickly iterate design ideas and converge on a viable solution is further enhanced by our farm of FDM and SLA 3D printers.

We are looking for an experienced hands-on Embedded Systems / Computer Engineer to support development for our customers and for our own products. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and a desire to learn and grow while fielding a variety of work in the following areas:

· Machine Design

· Automation & Controls

· Build-to-Print/Fabrication

· Product Development

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: EMBEDDED SYSTEMS / COMPUTER ENGINEER

We are looking for a full-time Embedded Systems / Computer Engineer to help us manage the growing demands of the company. The ideal candidate will create, draft, and design product layouts and schemes using customer specifications and recommendations. This individual will test products and adjust where necessary. We are specifically looking for someone who pays attention to detail and who is responsive and willing to help with the following:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: EMBEDDED SYSTEMS / COMPUTER ENGINEER

  • Strong PCB design skills and at least 2 years of experience designing, building, and testing/debugging circuits
  • General software skills
  • Embedded firmware development
  • App development
  • Design and development of software solutions, software requirements analysis, software configuration management
  • Provide networking and system/application design
  • Perform system software and hardware setup
  • Perform system integration and testing
  • Customize hardware, system, and network configuration according to client requirements
  • Participate in the whole software development procedure, from testing requirements to verification and validation of a system
  • Supply application/control system design and development to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS) to port with process instrumentation
  • Ensure availability and stability of applications and management system hardware by exact and thorough maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Develop or modify management system applications to meet evolving goals or business production needs
  • Determine the main cause of software system issues and create corrective actions that are effective

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • MS Degree is a plus
  • 5 years of related experience
  • PCB design skills are required
  • Hands-on development skills in two or more application languages, such as: C, C++, Python, Java, JavaScript, C#, Objective-C, Dart, Swift or equivalent languages
  • Excellent organization, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Strong commitment to providing superior client satisfaction
  • Ability to work on several projects in parallel in a fast-paced environment
