PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Bambini Creativi, founded as a Reggio-Inspired preschool in 2011, launched its early year's program fall of 2012. One of the first schools in the U.S. to be built, designed, and fully implement the Reggio Emilia Approach to early years learning. Bambini Creativi employs this social constructivist approach throughout the school.

In 2017, Bambini Creativi made the conscious decision to build on their founding values to extend inquiry- based learning experiences into the elementary program, and thus decided to pursue the International Baccalaureate's Primary Year's Program and authorization process. In 2018, Bambini Creativi became an IB Candidate school and is currently scheduled to apply for Authorization in the spring of 2019.

We have small classes (16 children) in many of our classrooms, including an assistant teacher, when we exceed 16 students. Our Reggio-inspired, social-constructivist curriculum is inquiry-based and driven mostly by honoring the children's interests and curiosities. We emphasize collaboration and recognize the gifts that each child brings to the group. Our math and literacy curriculum is integrated and applied to everyday experiences. Our Elementary classrooms do however have Integrated Math and Literacy focused times built into their daily schedule. Academic goals in these areas and many other parts of our program derived from a compilation of developmentally appropriate expectations and standards that are based on the International
Baccalaureate standards and model, Teaching Strategies GOLD, and Work Sampling. All other core learning domains focus on the process of learning that naturally emerges or has been influenced by provocations in our curriculum framework. The arts and the "Hundred Languages" are incorporated into all areas of the curriculum, and children learn to represent their thinking in many forms of media and through many different modes of expression. Our approach is one that recognizes the whole child and focuses first and foremost on social and emotional learning and relationships as the necessary foundations for learning. To further support the development of the whole child, the educational team employs Dr. Beck Bailey's Conscious Discipline- to empathy and character building.

Bambini Creativi's Annual Research Project and Professional Development/ Conference have opened our doors to over 275 participants in the past four years. Also, Bambini Creativi has had numerous educators observe and learn from our educational experience from all over the United States and countries around the world. Bambini Creativi has forged strong bonds with local universities and learning institutions. As a result, we have co-created an in-depth learning experience for student teachers to learn how to work in the "Reggio way." Bambini Creativi also opens its doors to parents and businesses who want to collaborate to bring innovation to education and uphold the rights of the child.
