We are seeking a Digital Platform Product Owner to help further the growth and improvement of foundational digital experiences. In addition to story writing and roadmaps, the PO will support two development squads and will be the team’s first line of defense to shelter the team from distractions. The successful candidate will understand the broad landscape and provide prioritization to the team by coordinating all the moving pieces to allow the team to focus on doing.

The Digital Platform Product Owner should understand technology and become well acquainted with Ally design standards as they will be responsible for proper alignment. This is a highly visible role that sits horizontally across all the Ally LOBs (Auto, Bank, Invest, Mortgage, Credit Card, Lending). Overall, the PO will need to be a strategic partner with a focus on relationship building to ensure that digital teams across Ally follow through on our enterprise vision.

The Work Itself

  • Develop and manage the digital roadmap and strategy in partnership with business and tech partners.
  • Be a strategic thinker and relationship builder to evangelize our portfolio to both business leaders and technologists to ensure adoption across the enterprise and to realize the full potential of the strategy.
  • Understand the value the teams bring and quantify it by proactively engaging with implementation teams to encourage and promote use of services and capabilities.
  • Groom the backlog of user stories and prioritize for the teams.
  • Work with internal and external delivery partners to ensure prioritization of enhancements.
  • Present updates and status to senior management – a high level of CIO visibility.

The Skills You Bring

  • 3-5+ years as a Product Owner with hands-on Agile experience. Experience negotiating and selling is a plus!
  • Ability to work in a developing space, be comfortable forming opinions, drive results, and get things done.
  • Demonstrated ability to structure, analyze, and answer major business questions, balancing multiple requests, and competing priorities.
  • Effective communication across all levels of the organization and a spirit of building strong relationships is essential.
  • Experience working with technology teams with an understanding of how they work together to create strong customer experiences.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical requirements and design across engineering, design, and QA and to non-technical people.
  • Preferred: experience in digital or financial services.
