The primary function of the NON-CDL Delivery Driver is to drive a straight truck for the purpose of delivering and unloading various products (meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods) while providing excellent customer service to customers.

Summary:

  • Perform all pre-trip responsibilities to include:
  • pre-trip of vehicle before departing from the Chef's Warehouse terminal: inspect vehicle for damages, check fuel level, check refrigeration unit to make sure it is running at optimal temperature, check to make sure load is secure and that delivery equipment is on the truck
  • Complete daily DVIR form
  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to route
  • Unload products from the truck with a hand truck, dolly or by hand and place them in designated storage areas
  • Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
  • Use provided technology system to communicate with dispatch at base regarding delivery discrepancies during the delivery process
  • Perform back haul pickups as needed.
  • Perform all post-trip responsibilities to include unload damaged goods and customer returns, place trash in trash receptacle, clean cab and back of truck of any garbage; stack skids place trash in trash receptacle
  • Go over returns and damages with driver check in manager
  • Complete Department of Transportation (DOT) logs (electronic or manual as required), vehicle maintenance reports, etc.
  • Discuss any traffic or parking violations encountered during the delivery process with the dispatch manager
  • Turn in check collected and fuel card at the end of shift
  • Secure hand truck, manual jack and other equipment in the warehouse
  • Pull truck off dock and park vehicle in truck yard
  • Turn in key to dispatch manager
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Valid DOT medical card
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Must have a satisfactory motor vehicle record
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift and or move up to 80lbs
  • Food or beverage distribution/delivery experience preferred not required
