General Summary:

The Customer Service Representative position is located at our Cher-Make facility. When you join the Cher-Make team, you’ll become both part of the team that Makes a Difference and a part of the Lakeside Foods corporate family. The Customer Service Representative role offers a team-oriented, attentive individual the opportunity to provide Cher-Make customers with product ordering and fulfillment support across multiple business channels, while working closely with the Sales team and collaboratively with all elements of the Cher-Make organization. A keen interest in solving problems and offering alternative solutions to customer challenges is critical to success in the role.

What you'll do:

  • Responsible for intake and confirmation of orders to satisfy customer requirements to maximize logistics while working within product availability.
  • Order intake conducted both electronically and via manual order processing.
  • Evaluate orders against sales agreements and inventory including salable items, minimum quantities, and correct pricing. Make corrections and communicate with customers as needed to ensure verification of limited supply items.
  • Store all relevant communication electronically for record keeping and cross departmental communication.
  • Work with warehouses and logistics to provide all customer instructions and coordinate shipments to meet customer expectations.
  • Work with retail warehouse buyers both directly and via customer portals.
  • Research and resolve, as needed, deductions with customers and logistics partners.
  • Work with Account Receivables when credit limit and new customer setup need resolution.
  • Prepare and maintain all electronic customer files and master customer data information to manage orders, promotions, and allocation.
  • Work on projects or other jobs as assigned by the Customer Service Manager.


What you'll bring:

Knowledge:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or prior Customer Service experience.
  • Prior experience with AS-400 in a Customer Service role beneficial.

Skills:

  • Effective and concise communication ensuring quick understanding.
  • Computer Skills – Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Access
  • Problem solving, ownership of resolution, and critical thinking.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with both warehouse and sales.

Abilities:

  • Understand information from multiple sources, analyze, and draw conclusions.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Requires the ability to proof and read work accurately


Work environment:

  • Normal office environment where there is no physical discomfort or exposure to hazards due to temperature, dust, noise and the like.
  • 40-hour work week (Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm)
  • Must have ability to walk up and down a flight of stairs.
