Paragon Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking following skill sets for an excellent opportunity with one of our clients. All employment status is possible; full-time, contract or contract to hire. The work is remote although the client is hopeful that the candidate can be on-site as needed for orientation, deployment, etc. There is no set rate so that can be negotiated if you are qualified.

Below is a general outline of the opportunity is as follows.

· Micro Focus COBOL

o The client is still running a very old system that they want to replace. The primary skill set for the MF COBOL would be to read and document what the current system is doing so that it can be rewritten in a more contemporary language and platform.

o Linux or even UNIX expertise would be a plus but not necessarily mandatory.

· Analytical / Design Skills

o As stated, the ability to read the existing code and document it so it can be rewritten.

o The ability to understand complex logic. The application in question is old but complex.

o The ability to design contemporary software applications including knowledge of contemporary OS, languages and database.

· Contemporary Development Skills

o Modern web development skills.

o Node.js is preferred but other skills will be considered.

o Preferred database experience is PostgreSQL but any applicable experience (MySQL, MS SQL, etc.) would be considered.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Permanent

Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
