The role of the Clinical IT Pharmacist is to provide the best pharmacotherapy to patients while supervising support staff, supporting the patient-centered academic mission of the University of Toledo Medical. Will evaluate user needs, workflow, plans and direct all aspects of the design, evaluation, implementation and maintenance of pharmacy information systems. These systems include, but are not limited to, computerized inpatient/outpatient pharmacy order/entry, Pyxis, inventory control systems, Pharmacy Dept. web site, financial, and systems mandated by regulatory requirements. These individuals coordinate the necessary integration/interface activities with other ancillary systems. The Clinical IT pharmacist collaborates with Information Systems Department to ensure effective integration of these clinical systems with other institutional applications. Participates with Pharmacy Management, in the development of a pharmacy department strategic plan for information systems. Performs other duties as assigned.
