Time Commitment: Full time/part work. At least one weekend day is required. Holidays and summertime are our busiest times and require commitment. Early morning (6:30 AM) shifts and early evening shifts (till 8 pm) are required.

Who are we? The Cashiering Team is “the face of the Market”. Interacting with every single customer, they are the ones whose service will leave the most lasting impression on our customers. Upbeat, outgoing and friendly, as well as accurate and speedy, cashiers run the registers, bag the groceries, and help carry bags out to cars.

General Duties:

Cashier Associates are full and part time non-supervisory positions. Must be 16 or older. Must be able to:

· Ring up purchases quickly and cheerfully

· Learn PLU codes for speed and accuracy

· Recognize different varieties of fruits and vegetables, and tell them apart

· Make correct change

· Make sure the line moves rapidly

· Carefully bag groceries so that all items can be transported without damage to the customer’s home

· Maintain a clean and orderly work area

· Accurately count banks at the end of the night

· Take care of opening and closing duties, including cleaning

· Help maintain a safe outdoor walkway in the winter

· Give fantastic service to customers and teammates

A successful candidate has:

· The ability to remain calm under pressure, and thrive when it’s busy

· Ability to communicate clearly, politely and effectively

· Good math and computer skills

· Focus on one customer at a time, while keeping the line moving

· Ability to effectually resolve issues and handle challenging customer concerns in a warm and thoughtful manner

· A love of giving great service, without exception, going the extra mile

· Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, sit, squat, reach and bend, for 8 hours at a time

· A good eye for quality

· High standards for cleanliness and sanitation

Education:

None qualifying.

Compensation:

Starting at $15/ hour for full time employment
