Carnegie Library Banquet Server

Carnegie Banquet Servers are responsible for providing excellent, professional and friendly food and beverage service to clients and guests while consistently exceeding our client's requirements and anticipating our guest’s needs.

This position reports directly to the Catering Brand Manager and Banquet Captain with indirect reporting to The General Manager and Assistant General Manager. Exceptional Banquet Servers may have the potential to grow into a Banquet Captain position.

Job Description

• Maintain Carnegie Library service standards as outlined in the Carnegie Banquet training program, standards of operation, and policies and procedures.
• Maintain uniform and grooming guidelines as outlined in the Carnegie Banquet Training program and remain well-mannered at all times.
• Responsible for food and beverage service to clients and guests, adhering to Carnegie Library service standards.
• Accurately execute client Banquet Event Orders as outlined in the BEO event documents and attend to guest requests in a prompt and friendly manner.
• Set-up event room according the the BEO and event diagram, and The Carnegie Library standards of service.
• Attend pre-event BEO meetings and carry out specific prep-work and duties as assigned.
• Consistantly sanitize work areas, refill/stock containers and supplies, etc.).
• Always work as a member of the team, offering assistance to team members when needed and supporting each other with kindness.
• Rectify any client or guest complaint as quickly as possible. Immediately notify management of complaints from a client or guest at the time they occur. Never make excuses or guess answers- if in doubt, have your manager address the complaint.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by the Catering Brand Manager, Banquet Captain or General Managers.
• Consistently be in full uniform and ready for work in your assigned venue at the time you are scheduled to begin your shift.
• Maintain good conduct, strong work ethic and safe working habits.
• Attend all service staff training courses and meetings as scheduled.
• Perform additional tasks as needed or as directed.
• A high school diploma preferred.
• Previous upscale Banquet Service experience is preferred.
• Alcohol Server permit is preferred
• Excellent communication skills and articulate speech, and willingness to communicate and follow instructions in a friendly manner.

Uniform Requirements:

All-black, long sleeve dress shirt with collar, sleeves buttoned, collar open one button. No visible t-shirt under uniform shirt. All black pants, and belt (if worn). No jeans or leggings. All black shoes.

The Carnegie Library will provide: All-black bistro apron.
