Position:
Bartender/bar manager/solo employee at a small live comedy and entertainment club. (Plus a few weeknights every month, with the possibility of schedule expansion.)
$20 per hour plus tips
Thursdays 4pm-12am
Fridays 4pm-2am
Saturdays 4pm -2am
Second Monday of every month 3pm-11pm
Fourth Tuesday of the every month 4pm-11pm
Looking for an independent, proactive, and fun/outgoing person to be the solo full-time empoyee, working along side of the owner.
Besides being the right hand of the owner, charming guests and slinging drinks, the bartender's duties include:
POS operation and ticket sales, glass and barware-washing, bussing tables, floor-sweeping, citrus-cutting, cooler-stocking, operating a single deep fryer, prepping and serving a small menu of fried snacks, keeping all bar surfaces wiped and clean, floor-sweeping, putting out/bringing in flags and a-frames, answering a lot of questions from patrons in a fun and sales-minded way, managing situations involving rowdy customers, preventing drug addicts from wandering in to steal stuff or do drugs in the bathroom, keeping a weekly list of consumables and bar stock needing to be ordered for the next week, entering new items and updating the POS system, answering the phone, and having enthusiasm to do anything else that is needed for a successful shift. Out of respect for the bartender, the owner does all the grossest things like taking out the trash and cleaning the bathrooms.
We have a pretty wide selection of canned/bottled beers, ciders, spiked things, wine, a two tap draft system, fruit-based versions of the main liquors and lots of mixers.
But we are currently in the process of getting a full liqour license.
This position requires immense flexibilty, major respect and deference for the small and personal nature of the business, independent motivation, empathy, patience, assertiveness, integrity, a positive attitude, and follow-through.
This position is not for someone who just wants to make money with the least amount of effort possible. This is an LGBTQIA-owned arts company with altruistic goals way beyond revenue. EI Bar & Stage is a personal passion and lifelong dream come to fruition due to full personal financial investment and sacrifice; constant awareness and respect of that fact is necessary for a successful working dynamic. The owner does not take a paycheck. All profits are invested back into the business and/or shared with talent and the bartender in the form of bonuses.
Wanted is someone who desires to grow with the company and hopefully be there for a very very longtime.
Bonuses and wage increases will happen based on performance, and will happen as soon and as frequent as possible.
