Bar Line Operations & Maintenance Manager:

The Bar Line Operations & Maintenance Manager role at Factory Manufacturing is a “hands on” operations and management position. This position plays a key role in planning and developing production bar lines for products such as nut & seed bars, protein bars, etc. This position will also be materially involved with hands-on operating, problem solving, product quality, maintaining, and managing production bar lines and supporting equipment. This is a great opportunity for an individual that enjoys project and operating responsibility from conceptual ideas and planning, to building the line, specifying & sourcing equipment, coordinating installations with facilities, managing the start-up, operation, and production results.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Participate and lead the planning and development of production line equipment and specifications to produce desired bar line products.
  • Provide guidance and direction for bars product manufacturing strategies and solutions.
  • Manage and strive for production and product quality, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Research, source, and specify production bar line equipment by working with suppliers and industry experts.
  • Play a hands-on lead role with equipment commissioning, testing, problem solving, repairing and maintaining bar line equipment.
  • Plan and maintain production schedules, material requirements, and other operating needs.
  • Pilot test new products, manufacturing methods and concepts, with an focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Participate in wider team projects that integrate with other departments and roles.
  • Promote and enforce good GMPs and food safety initiatives.
  • Position reports to Director of Operations.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • A solid understanding of bar line equipment, and manufacturing strategies such as mixers, extruders, cooling tunnels, enrobers, cutters, flow-wrappers, etc.
  • Prior enrobing experience in a food manufacturing setting
  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems with attention to detail
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair automated equipment including, but not limited to, pneumatics, electrical, hydraulics, motors, conveyors, PLC controlled equipment, etc. preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, as well as team-oriented collaboration skills
  • Effective management and use of contractors and maintenance team resources.
  • Flexible and tolerant of fast paced changes in a dynamic start up environment.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED certificate
  • 5-7 Years experience testing, maintaining, and operating bar production lines in a food production/facility.
  • Technical Degree(s) or Trade Certification(s) a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling around machinery.
  • Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds at time
