OVERVIEW: The Banquet Bartender mix and serve alcoholic beverages based on customer requests. Designs and delivers exceptional alcoholic beverage service, including a customized cocktail menu for all events at the CrystalView property. Leading with a people-first attitude requires inspiring team members to do their best through their Strengths while achieving The Vision, The Mission, and Exceeding the Wildly Important Performance Goals. Oversees the Quality Improvement Process for the property to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction by consistently delivering product quality and service to the property’s profitability goals. Active in the local community in recruiting talent, marketing, and promoting CrystalView Weddings and Events

REPORTS TO: Banquet Manager and Banquet Captain.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Responsible for the setup of the bar as detailed in the Banquet Event Order.

2. As a bartender, you may be assigned a role that could include but be limited to being a barback, buffet runner, server, beverage station attendant, butler, and lobby ambassador. You also may be assigned more than one role or multiple events on your shift.

3. Create a complete bar to include correct glassware, garnishes, condiments, and equipment to serve through the service time.

4. Create and Display Specialty cocktails for the event.

5. No TIP Jars will be displayed on the bars as this event is hosted.

6. Never leave a bar unattended during service time.

7. Picks up and signs for liquor requisition at the beginning of the event, signs for additions to this requisition during the event, and returns and reconciles consumption with the supervisor after the event.

8. Works with the assigned Barback to ensure the bar is fully stocked and replenished during service times.

9. Cleans and restocks the bar with glassware etc. at the event's conclusion so it is fully ready for the next event.

10. Ensures all bars are ready 15 minutes before start time on BEO.

11. Attend pre-meal briefing before each event.

12. Verify the identification and age of all customers who serve alcohol. This includes tableside wine service, champagne toasts, and bar service. You MUST be 21 years old to consume alcohol in VA outside your home.

13. If you are under 21, you cannot mix cocktails or bartend, and must be 18 years or older to serve alcoholic drinks.

14. Maint a basic cleanliness level and awareness of safe food handling practices.

15. Anticipates guests’ needs and exceeds customers' expectations with friendly, thorough, and fast service.

16. Maintain composure in a fast-paced environment and work effectively with other servers and supervisors.

17. professionally present yourself, make eye contact, and greet every guest. Appearance should be in line with uniform guidelines and immaculately clean. No cell phones should be on or seen during service.

18. Relay vital information about orders, allergies, and special requests to your supervisor.

19. Pay full attention to your guests during the entire event by always staying in the assigned event room so you can be available to your guests. If you must leave the event room, notify your supervisor first.

20. Complete side work at the end of your shift and check out with your supervisor before leaving.

21. Follow the direction of their supervisors and managers during the event to execute the sequence of service outlined on the BEO.

22. Checks throughout the event with the guest and clients to ensure they are receiving excellent service.

23. Physically tour and visually inspect property daily. Monitor cost control, property condition, cleanliness, and quality of products and services throughout the hotel. Greet and maintain rapport with employees and customers.

24. Report maintenance concerns to facility maintenance and monitor all active repairs that may impact events.

25. Completes Training Classes to deliver exceptional services including but not limited to: a immaculately clean building front and back of the house, food and beverage storage areas, precise set ups as determined on the BEO and floor plans, beautiful buffets, perfectly aligned table setups, to bartend at the level of a first-class cocktail bar and table-side food service at the story of a fine dining restaurant.

26. Must complete TIPS and Food Handler Certified Training in the first 30 days.

27. Make judgments and implement changes to maximize profits.

28. Timely verbal and written communication to provide clear direction to employees, guests, and managers.

29. Appropriately handle guest issues and report to their supervisors’ resolutions.

30. Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly.

31. Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Always maintain a professional appearance and manner. Can share well with guests. Be willing to “pitch in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player. Knowledge of property operations, including marketing plans, security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations, preparation of business plans, repairs, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance programs, hospitality law, and long-range planning. Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff and to ensure the accomplishment of goals. Able to set priorities, plan, organize, and delegate. Written communication skills to be concise, well-organized, complete, and transparent. Ability to move throughout premises and visually inspect conditions, including bending, stooping, and reaching arms overhead. Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 Years Experience in Food and Beverage Service
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and can work well under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to lift 50lbs or more

Qualifications:

· Must be 21 years of age to bartend

· Must demonstrate making 25 cocktails in terms of correct recipes and presentation.

· Serve Safe Food Handling Certification Preferred

· TIPS Certification Preferred, Required if a Bartender
