Armed Security Officers for Multiple Locations in New Orleans

Must own personal weapon meeting State Board requirements

$14.50 - $16 / HR (depending upon Post Assignment)

• Must either be registered as a Security Officer with LSBPSE, or be able to meet requirements for registration, including:
  • Pass a fingerprint background check with the State Police
  • Complete necessary guard classroom training
  • Complete firearms training if assigned to an armed post
• Must be in good physical condition to complete necessary post assignments, which might include walking, driving, or standing for extended periods of time
• Must have a professional presentation, both in appearance and demeanor
• Possess excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Demonstrate a commitment and understanding of core values such as respect, integrity, and accountability
• Work successfully in either a team-oriented or solo environment
• Available to work rotating shift work (24/7) schedules
• Ability to use sound judgment, decision-making skills, and discretion
• Valid driver license with clean driving record, if assigned post involves use of a vehicle

Responsibilities:

Depending on nature of assignment:

• Conduct mobile or foot patrols of an assigned area or property
• Complete accurate and detailed reports utilizing a web-based reporting system
• Access and egress control
• Search of persons, containers, or vehicles
• Perform other duties as requested or required
