Adult and Youth Instructors Wanted!

We are looking for passionate and outgoing personalities that are eager to teach, energetic, motivated to learn, and are dedicated to continuous improvement.

We need adult program teachers with advanced skills in the following areas: Automotive, MIG Welding, TIG Welding, Oxy/Acetylene, Electronics, Robotics, Jewelry, Woodworking, Metal Shop, Machining, CNC Machining, 3D Modeling, 3D Printing, Graphic Design, Leatherworking, Laser, Composites, Textiles, Vinyl Cutting, Blacksmithing, Injection Molding, Stained Glass. This is the opportunity to share your expertise with others that are eager to learn and thirsty for more. You will get immediate feedback from students that are thrilled to be taking the best shop classes available with you.

Youth program instructors should have experience in at least one shop area and be eager to learn many other shop disciplines. To work with the students requires a passionate and exciting personality to ensure classes are safe and energetic. These classes are designed to instill curiosity and passion into the class to create opportunity and enthusiasm in our students. They are incredibly rewarding as you see the students blossom under your care and instruction and go onto make critical decisions about their future.

Adult Instructor Requirements:

· Must have extensive working knowledge of the subject they wish to teach

· Must be cool, enthusiastic, and the type of person who enjoys other people

· Inspire and encourage students

· Teach / demonstrate shop rules, etiquette, clean up / organization, check out procedures

· Must present a professional image, be courteous and organized, and reliable

· Start and end class on time and teach prescribed content

· Inform shop or management team of any equipment, materials, or documentation issues

· Manage class paperwork (student / teacher evaluations, student pass / fail)

Youth Instructor Requirements:

· Shop and/or maker experience with tools and electronics

· Experience teaching or youth leadership (class room management)

· Be well organized, flexible, and reliable

· Pass Live-scan background check

· Able to remain confident/calm with groups of students using large power tools

· Mechanically inclined with good shop and computer skills

· Able to commit to complete calendar year schedule

· Male and Female instructors needed

· Desire and self-motivation to learn (we have 48 separate lessons in our existing 4 levels)

· Good communication skills with parents and families

· Able to think on the fly when a project goes wrong, tool breaks, or part is missing

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Teaching Certification (Preferred)
