Position title: Client Service Associate

Position description:

Step into an instrumental role as a Client Service Associate with a Financial Advisory practice with Ameriprise Financial. This role will help to fulfill the company’s mission with a focus on fostering professional relationships with peers and with clients based on respect. This position has a responsibility of representing the company in a positive, professional manner. This position will consistently follow high standards of business and professional ethics and legal and regulatory requirements when dealing with others and/or performing work activities.

This position has tremendous growth potential and upside for someone wanting to become a Financial Advisor, though that is not a requirement for the position.

Position functions: 60% Financial Planning & Advice / Product Solutions

  • Superior support to both the financial advisors and the client
  • Prepare client forms and agendas in alignment with practice preferences for all client meetings
  • Review and update client information as needed
  • Participate as “second chair” in advisor/client meetings to take notes and handle follow up
  • Produce a summary letter after each client meeting
  • Owner of meeting follow up process and business processing action items
  • Oversee future assets and business opportunities
  • Owner of required minimum distributions process
  • Responsible for follow-up with home office on business related issues
  • Answer questions and provide readily available information to clients, if requested and as allowable, as it relates to servicing their accounts and financial planning data
  • Responsible for documenting client contact/calls
  • Maintain client contact during the financial planning process
  • Manage and resolve client service problems
  • Maintain files and records in accordance with the records retention policy

Responsibilities and time allocation may change over time to meet the needs of the practice and can include other duties as assigned by the advisor.

Required:

  • College degree or higher preferred
  • Enthusiastic about learning new things
  • Technology proficiency, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel

Recommended:

  • 2+ years of similar experience
  • Already have or be able to study for and pass exams for federal and state licenses and registrations for securities, including
  • Series 7, Series 66, and State life, accident and health insurance licenses

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
